Job Summary

The Warehouse team member is responsible for all shipping and receiving functions including properly preparing bills of lading, pulling inventory, and checking incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy. He/She shall be aligned with and support the overall goals and objectives of the entire company and actively provide input and support throughout the company. Strives for 100% of customers to Experience the Difference. Ensures Abatix is represented in a positive manner.        

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Receive and count stock items and record data into computer system
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies
  • Pick and pack orders
  • Safely operate material handling equipment with proper training
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner
  • Mark stock items with tags or labeling equipment
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover and facility
  • Participate in safety program and obey safety instructions, rules, policy and procedures
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, damaged product, etc. to supervisors
  • Assist customers with loading merchandise
  • Participate in various departmental and interdepartmental meetings or training as required
  • Other duties as necessary 

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school degree, diploma, or GED certificate from a certified institution preferred
  • 2+ year’s warehouse experience preferred 
  • Must be able to use a reach forklift
  • Must be able to complete forklift training and maintain certification in compliance with company policy
  • Experience with EPICOR Prophet 21 Preferred
  • Must be able to use FED EX Worldwide
  • Experience with a RF scanner preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal & written English language skills are required
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Exhibit motivation, dependability, punctuality, and organization skills
  • General office skills including proficient computer skills
  • Ability to compile & decipher information in spreadsheet format
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra, geometry and general business math
  • Professional appearance
  • If applicable - Must have a valid driver’s license, clean MVR, complete an approved defensive driving course, and maintain a driving history in compliance with company policy while driving for Abatix
  • If applicable - Must pass and maintain the DOT physical requirements and annual drug screens
