Branch Manager
Abatix is a nationally recognized supplier of safety, environmental, construction, janitorial, and industrial products, known for supporting customers across the nation. We have been in business for over 40 years and have built 14 branch locations across the country with the idea that success is based on building long lasting relationships.
The Branch Manager is accountable for the revenue, gross profit and operating profit performance of the location. This person will visit customers to grow the business and has the authority and responsibility to lead and resolve all issues location wide affecting sales, gross profit, operating profit, customer relationships, supplier relationships, organizational development and employee satisfaction.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop & implement plans to achieve sales growth; gross profit; operating profit targets
- Make visits to customers and potential customers to increase sales and grow the business
- Implement locally the “best practices” policies and procedures of the company
- Manage expenses and identify & exploit opportunities to improve efficiency and error free operations
- Develop, implement & enforce policies, processes, and procedures
- Allocate & enable human resources necessary to achieve objectives
- Provide leadership & support to achieve objectives for compliance and safety
- Provide leadership, focus & discipline to ensure organizational alignment & effectiveness
- Manage working capital for inventory and accounts receivables to achieve turnover goals
- Define & implement plans to improve customer satisfaction and lead the complaint resolution and order fulfillment process
- Foster and lead teamwork and cohesiveness between the sales team, supply team, and back office team
- Define & implement plans to improve employee satisfaction & development
- Provide input and make final decisions where necessary pertaining to vendor selection
Skills/Qualifications:
- 5+ years sales experience in a customer-facing role
- 5+ years of experience leading, developing, and directing field based sales teams
- Demonstrated sales performance and sales leadership skills; track record of developing sales talent
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Strong leadership, planning and organization, and problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong selling, relationship building, communication, teamwork and consultation skills
- Demonstrated personal adaptability and the ability to drive change
- Strong results orientation
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, other company personnel and business contacts
- Knowledge and application of company capabilities, products, and customer core processes
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Able to be present & punctual, with minimal absences
- Able to sit for long periods of time
- Able to lift 25 pounds
- Required to wear steel toe boots or shoes when in warehouse
- Eyesight, verbal skills, and hearing must be adequate to enable written and verbal communication with employees and customers
- Time commitments will vary with the seasons and may require more than forty hours per week. May also be called out occasionally for after hours or weekend service.
